Why do I like that little message when I click to my subscribed threads that reads, blah blah blah thank you for your patience so much?

The thank you for your patience part. Why do I like that so much?

Everyone likes being thanked, it’s recognition of their personhood, as well as a sign of appreciation.

Because it’s more polite than most people I bump into on a daily basis out and about on the streets? LOL

It is polite, and it is certainly more welcome than other things I bump into on a daily basis.

I don’t subscribe to threads so I don’t know the dialog you’re referring to but generally I don’t like artificial machine-generated “politeness”.

Example: “Thank you for your patience”
*who says I am patient, maybe I’m ready to snap and having to wait 20 min. to get a simple question answered will push me over the edge

*“your call is very important to us” *liar – if it were important, you’d hire more people and they’d be native English speakers,
*
“your estimated wait time is . . .” *THERE! all I really need to know.

I know. Oh how I know that one. Person on the other end of the phone is in another country, english is the second or third language. But, that is the way it is I guess.
