Why do non-Catholics say Catholics pray in vain repetition?

It speaks biblical truths, but the creed, as written, is not found in the Bible. That does not make it less of a truth, nor does it make the Rosary wrong.

No Jon, do you agree with me? This Creed which was written by the Apostles, is the story or shortcut to what it says in the bible. No?
My point is someone here said this wasn’t in the bible and that is not so. I meant the story, not the Creed as it is written.

Yes, I agree with you, and I like the “shortcut” analogy. We absolutely agree. I think we both know what we’re trying to say, and as often happens, a Catholic and a Lutheran saying the same thing in different ways. 🙂

It is ridiculous that the catholic faith professes to know all and to be the only true way. The sad thing for the usual catholic follower is they never question anything the priest says because he is supposed to know all. That is simply not the case. The catholic church is teaching traditions and having their followers believe things that are not from the bible and therefore not from GOD!

First of all - you need to calm down with the anti-Catholic rants.

Secondly, you’re off-topic. This is a thread about why some non-Catholics will accuse Catholics about praying in vain repetitions - which is a silly charge.

Your charge that Catholics never question their priests is complete nonsense. That all depends on the person. I have questioned priests about a great many things and I know countless others who have done the same.**

Finally, your ridiculous accusation that the Church teaches us things that are not from the Bible - and therefore are not from God - is mind-boggling.

Let me ask you a few things:
Is the “Sinner’s Prayer” in the Bible?
Are “Altar Calls” in the Bible?
Is “Amazing Grace” in the Bible?
Is the word, “Trinity” in the Bible?
Is the word, “Bible” in the bible?

**Ummm - that’s what I thought . . . **
