Why do some Catholics reject parts of the CCC?

Some believe there are errors in the Catechism itself.

And some believe that the Church is wrong on certain positions but it doesn’t make it so, does it?

The only two infallible statements made by a pope have been the Immaculate Conception and the Assumption of Mary. Sorry, don’t have a link or anything.

Thanks for your help. I was contacted privately (unsolicited) by someone who said I didn’t accept the teachings of the True Church when I quoted something from the CCC. She said until I accepted the Truth of the Church we had no basis for communication, but she would gladly enlighten me privately. I told her I accepted everything in the CCC and what I have been taught, but I’m thinking I’m way out of my league here.

I’m not being deliberately obtuse, but I still don’t understand how the Church, which presumably knows all about the Council of Trent, etc., would put out a catechism that does not accurately represent what it teaches. And if this is the case, who do you trust?

Thank you all again for your help. I got an answer from Fr. Serpa regarding the CCC that I will take as authoritative.

It is a relief to me, although still not sure why some Catholics reject it.
