Why do we bless rosaries?

I’m sure it doesn’t make the prayer more effective. It feels like a good idea, but I’m trying to understand better.
 
There ae people on these boards who will explain this much better than I can, but here goes. When you bless something, it becomes a sacramental, something dedicated to God, blessing the Rosary does not in effect make the prayers better, but you are using a sacramental. There is a book, I think written by Ann Ball on Sacramentals. Hope this helps, you may want to wait for a more detailed and better answer. God Bless.
 
Holy Water, medals, rosaries, scapulars, statues, and many other items are blessed as well. This sets them apart for a holy purpose. Sacramentals can inspire us to an increase in faith, hope, and love.
 
When a priest or deacon blesses a rosary (or other religious object), what he is doing is praying to God to bless the person whenever he or she uses the item. So the priest’s prayer/request for God’s blessing accompanies you whenever you use the rosary.
