We say hello Deacon but we don’t say hello Priest or hello Bishop or hello Cardinal. Why isn’t there a term like we use Father, your Grace, your Eminence etc for a Deacon? Is it a language thing?

For a lot of history from around the 6th century onward the deacon was exclusively a transitional stage in becoming a priest and the permanent diaconate came back pretty recently.

I always say “Hello bishop” to my bishop. I don’t say eminence, although that is the formal way to address him.

Peace.

Oh yeah I had a brain fart and reversed them.

I always remembered “Your eminence” since a kid from Cardinal Richelieu in the Three Musketeers. I thought it sounded cool.
