why do we eat pork?
my son turned moslem read to me verses about it being forbidden;
I remember being told about Jesus saying it is what comes out of the mouth that is filthy, and not what goes in; but the verse was specifically referring to handwashing prior to eating; there was no reference or hint that pork is no longer forbidden; why are we not forbidding to consume blood of animals?

Please enlighten me.
