  1. There is actually nothing wrong with this bodily function, but one of the many results of the Fall is that our perception of it has been warped.
This is true in any case. Shame entered the world with OS. Before that humans didn’t even know they were naked.

Aerled Minor thank you for mentioning it. I appreciate many of the explanations of why we excrete but what I was actually looking for was trying to understand why God gives us this bodily function. I am well aware we need to excrete otherwise our body would be storing up all of this unnecessary intake but why is the function even there? Why were we not designed so we do not have to do this? I suppose it could be to do with the fall. Like giving birth hurts. Excreting is unpleasant. On a side not someone mentioned that excretion smells so we do not go near it or try to eat it as that would be bad for us. This Crosses over slightly with the topic on animal behaviours, dogs sometimes eat their own excrement. What does that say? Perhaps it is not as bad for them do it does not matter if they do. Is that the answer of the question. Some bodily functions seem to unnecessary.

There are many anomalies and strange phenomena in nature because of the fortuitous element in evolution. Within the framework of order, harmony and purpose there is an element of disorder, discord and dysteleology, i.e. frustration. The atheist believes everything is due to Chance and the Calvinist believes everything is directly willed by God but the truth lies between the two extremes. For the most part our Creator works through the laws of nature. 🙂
