Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We find some good answers to “Why we need to seek Wisdom” in continuing Chapter 5 in “The Love of Eternal Wisdom” by St. Louis de Montfort, who sought and found answers in the Book of Wisdom – God’s Holy Word. As St. John of the Cross wrote: “God spoke One Word and His Name is Jesus”. All Scripture points toward Him in the Old Testament and the New Testament brings us Jesus as He fulfills the Old.

Though St. Louis de Montfort wrote his books in the 1700’s they are as True today!!! Our times are in such dire need of God’s Wisdom! I hope those who are following these threads are continuing to remember (cf Mt. 7:7-11) to ask, seek and knock so that the doors of our hearts will be fully open – to Him:
    1. "Wisdom shows His glorious origin by being so intimately in union with God and by being loved by Him who is Lord of all." Wisdom is God himself - such is his glorious origin. God the Father has testified that He is pleased with him proving how much Wisdom is loved (Cf. Chapter One and No. 98).
    1. "Wisdom is the teacher of the knowledge of God and director of all His works." Eternal Wisdom alone enlightens every man that comes into this world (Jn. 1:9). He alone came from heaven to teach the secrets of God (Cf. Jn. 1:18; Mt. 11:27; 1 Cor. 2:10). We have no real teacher (Mt. 23:8,10) except the incarnate Wisdom, whose name is Jesus Christ. He alone brings all the works of God to perfection, especially the saints, for He shows them what they must do and teaches them to appreciate and put into practice all He has taught them.
    1. “If it is riches we seek in this life, who is richer than divine Wisdom who created all things?”
  1. “If the mind of man can produce things, who is more able than the fashioner of everything that exists?”
  2. If someone loves holiness, again the great virtues are the handiwork of Wisdom, for he teaches temperance and prudence, justice and fortitude, and nothing in this life is more useful than these.” Solomon clearly shows that since we should love Wisdom alone, then from Wisdom alone we should expect all things – material goods, knowledge of nature’s secrets, all spiritual good, the theological and cardinal virtues…
O Jesus, living in Mary, come and live in your servants, in the spirit of Your holiness, in the fullness of Your power, in the perfection of Your ways, in the truth of Your virtues, in the communion of Your mysteries. Rule over every adverse power, in Your Spirit, for the glory of the Father. Amen. (Prayer of Fr. Olier). Mary, Mother and Model of the Church, Seat of Wisdom, pray for us, that by the power of the Holy Spirit we may be as you are, – “Totally His.”

Dear Greenfields and Magnanimity,

Thanks so much for your “hearts” and your love for Eternal Wisdom. Please let us continue to pray for one another that we may be faithful to the Holy Spirit and learn to Love as He has loved us. Jesus, we trust in You! Mary, Mother and Model for the Church, pray for us.

A wise man’s heart inclines him toward the right, but a fool’s heart toward the left.
