Why do you assume it is disrespectful to say the name of the Virgin Mary? Is it because people do not ordinarily call their parents by their first names? If that is the case, then please remember that most Catholics do use some mark of respect in referring to Christ’s Mother, usually calling her the “Blessed Mother” or the “Blessed Virgin.” But it is not inherently disrespectful to call her by her name, so long as one’s attitude is respectful. It is also not unknown for children to call their parents by name either. For example, an adult child could introduce his father as, “…my father, Patrick Smith.”
