Why do you believe

I believe in what I regard as logical. If it makes logical sense I believe in it. If it doesn’t, then I don’t.
 
There’s a difference between what causes belief and what makes a belief reasonable. The former can involve reasons, but extends to the enormously complex web of causes acting on us at any given point. This distinction is important because we normally can’t say with accuracy what caused us to hold our beliefs, but we can nevertheless identify good reasons to think those beliefs are true.
 
As Perplexity kinda touched on, a person can only venture a guess as to why they believe something because beliefs cannot be consciously chosen.
 
Simple question.
There are days I have no idea and days I could talk forever as to why I believe.

I believe I have encountered God in my life.

The other reason is not believing seems so empty by comparison in terms of why we are here.
