Why do you love being Catholic?

What do I love so much I want to share it with others? The culture! The fasting and feasting. The saints and their stories and customs. I know cultural catholic usually is a term used to describe someone catholic in culture only, but I want to retake the term. I’m so in love with our catholic culture!

We don’t have thousands of parishioners- probably 1000 if we’re generous. There is a concentration of parishioners who attend Adoration. If the attendance is lower than hoped, it’s probably because of when it is offered -midday on a weekday, which is a struggle for those who work. On Holy Thursday we have Adoration at night and it is packed.

Fair enough. There is probably around 8K+ people in a couple of the parishes that have Adoration I go to. I realize a good portion of that time is during normal work hours, but not all are work hours either. Still, the percentage is incredibly low considering how great Adoration is imho!

Yes! The presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is simply unsurpassed compared to other Christian churches to me. Believe me, I speak from MUCH experience in both!

Beautifully written! Still, the biggest surprise of my reversion is Mary and the rosary. When I finally prayed it for the first time after about 20+ years I was flabbergasted of the spiritual power which I still experience regularly after around 9 years already.

I also think Apostolic Succession is something to be treasured as no other Christian church can even come close. When I was away from the Church I used the think the corrupt Popes of the middle ages broke this, but thanks to Mother Angelica setting me straight, it’s just the opposite as the sacraments and central beliefs of the Church have remained in tact the whole time!

Because the true faith is an everlasting treasure. Because of the sacraments and the communion of saints. Because we have hope for eternal life and with faith can overcome the world and its many temptations.

One of the things I love most about Catholicism, and which gives me the most confidence, is the fact that I know it is the TRUTH, confirmed by miracles. No other religion can say this.

There is an incredible sweetness in submitting to God. I find that trying hard to live virtuously is truly liberating, and the fact that the Catholic Church has the fullness of truth is comforting to me. I also love the community element of being “involved” as a Catholic; I have met so many wonderful people at my parish.

I have so much joy that I finally became Catholic. It took me a lifetime. I should have been in the Catholic church all along, but got sidetracked for 70 years. Finally made it. (It’s a really long story.)

I am mystical in my faith and that is what I love about the Catholic faith that it allows me to be this way. Candles incense music art… etc and of course I LOVE adoration!
