Why does God allow the Church to fail us?

Why does God allow the Church to fail us? Has anything specifically been written or revealed on this? For example, why did the Carmelites kidnap St. John of the Cross? Why were St. Therese of Liseux’s and St. Faustina’s great sufferings caused by their religious sisters?

Thought the church was supposed to increase happiness both on Heaven and Earth, so why does it so frequently contribute to unhappiness.

I guess one reason would be that even though the Catholic Church is “holy”,She is still made up of sinners.

Since she still includes sinners, she is “the sinless one made up of sinners.” Her holiness shines in the saints; in Mary she is already all-holy.

Because he left human beings in charge of it, and human beings represent it. You’re disappointed with the human element of the Church, which is understandible. But they don’t really make up the whole Church. I don’t think people realize how much their actions represent the Church. We can state that the Church is always right in matters of faith and morals, but the truth of the matter is, when we are good or bad, all are a reflection on the Church, especially the hierarchy. And people (both Catholics and non-Catholics) will always form their thoughts about the Church with what is reflected back at that from the Church, from the hierarchy down to the parishioners.

It’s not the Church that fails us. The Church is made up of people who have free will and are able to choose good or evil. This being said it is the people who can sometimes fail. Those saints who experienced suffering at the hands of others were still joyful because they offered those sufferings to Christ.

A good thing that can come out of the wrongs done to us, is that if we bear these wrongs patiently we can grow in grace.

The misunderstanding and the impatience of the Carmelites that imprisoned St. John of the Cross caused him to become holier! He suffered with Christ for the love of Christ and became like Christ.

God can use evil for good! (If we let Him.)
