As Catholics, our mission is to find our way back to God and at the same time spread the good news to all corners of Earth. But don’t you think that God should have granted us longer lifespan so that we can last longer in our mission? Elephant does not have a mission but they have longer lifespan than humans.

I don’t think a longer life makes you more likely to achieve whatever God wants you to.achieve. Our Lord managed it by age 33 after all.

Well, if someone is an atheist and dies when they’re 80, it is possible that had they lived to 81 they might have become a believer during that last year. So a longer life does increase the chance of completing the mission. (Though it also means if someone was a Christian till age 80, 1 extra year could give them time to go off the rails!)

Still, there’s not really a lot to explain why God made the animals the way He did. From a scientific point of view it’s just a result of evolution and whether the traits are beneficial to the survival of the species. Flies don’t live for very long in terms of days and years, but they live long enough to reproduce which is why there’s always plenty of flies.

Maybe it is because of our sins that our age is reduced? For example, Noah lived a very long life.

Nah, if that were true then God would grant the year. God loves him and wants him to be saved… I think if he died at 80 it means he wouldn’t have changed at 81.

yeah, what you’re saying is reminding me that quality of life relative to God is not measured in years.

That is wrong. The lifespan of an elephant is shorter than a human’s.

Personally I think the average human life is more than long enough. I’m looking forward to being done with it.

It’s toughtless to say “Christ managed it by age 33 to understand”.
Jesus Christ was and is God in God. He existed before the world was created. He taught the wise when He was 12…

Humans have the longest lifespan of all mammals.

The animals that have a longer lifespan are typically reptiles which have a very different biology than humans do.

Really? Well, for the sake of argument let’s just pretend they have longer lifespan.
Without question, Sea turtles have a longer life span. But what’s so great about it? I would not want to spend 100 years eating seaweed and dodging sharks.

Bowhead whales , which are mammals, have a lifespan of up to 200 years!

God gives us enough of a lifespan to choose Him. ALot of us need a lifetime, some need less. A longer lifespan doesn’t mean one will become holier. God knows how much time each of us will need. The Angels only needed an instant.
