Jesus point in those passages is that their sin was no greater or less than your sin; this is about the sin and its consequences so while the light is still here repent and be converted for God will not always strive with man. There not one, no not one righteous in His sight…how much plainer does He have to speak?I don’t have the bible right next to me right now to give you the exact verse but it is the passage where the disciples asked Jesus about the blind man, who sinned this man or his parents for him to go blind, and Jesus makes a reference to the death of some Galileans in an accident and said “Do you think those Galileans were worse sinners than the other people in Galilea.” Yes, Jesus didn’t say literally bad things can happen to good people but the point of what he said is that some things are just unfortunate and they don’t happen because the person is a sinner or not. I’ll post the whole verse as soon as I get it. I think is somewhere in Luke.
Romans 3 should do away with any notion of any goodness in any man in the sight of God; even man’s goodness to man is sin. Why? Because sin by its very nature is rebellion against God, so by doing a good deed to another human and not giving the glory to God is an act of rebellion because in that “goodness” God was not honored.
Not at all; for we have already charged that both Jews and Greeks are all under sin; 10 as it is written, “THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE; 11 THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS, THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD; 12 ALL HAVE TURNED ASIDE, TOGETHER THEY HAVE BECOME USELESS; THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE.” 13 “THEIR THROAT IS AN OPEN GRAVE, WITH THEIR TONGUES THEY KEEP DECEIVING,” “THE POISON OF ASPS IS UNDER THEIR LIPS”; 14 “WHOSE MOUTH IS FULL OF CURSING AND BITTERNESS”; 15 “THEIR FEET ARE SWIFT TO SHED BLOOD, 16 DESTRUCTION AND MISERY ARE IN THEIR PATHS, 17 AND THE PATH OF PEACE THEY HAVE NOT KNOWN.” 18 “THERE IS NO FEAR OF GOD BEFORE THEIR EYES.”
Can God get any more explicit in both the OT & NT about the total depravity of men in His sight? Read it several times till it sinks in.
