Because Satan works through the media. According to Saint Elizabeth Anne Seton’s prophecy, every American would one day have a black box in their home through which the devil would enter. I think that this couldn’t be more true!

Because satan, the accuser of the brethren, only attacks those he considers a threat. Also, the world in general ridicules that which it does not understand. Remember this: Friendship with the world is enmity with God.
my answer too. St. Joseph, patron of patience, pray for us!

In large part because the Church refuses to budge on calling sin, sin. This applies especially to “sexual” sin (including abortion). Sex is the secular West’s new god, and abortion is its sacrament, and it will not tolerate dissent.
This. Sex is always the reason behind these attacks. This is the only thing that secularists point to when discussing religion: how some aspect of religious faith relates to sex and sexual freedom. What a one track mind.

"No servant is above his master,if they have persecuted me,they will persecute you."This is basically a characteristic of the Church and one that I’m very honoured to have. You must understand that we as Catholics partake in the life, death and resurrection of Christ, not just one aspect.

To suffer in God’s name, for God’s name is meritorious and infinitely rewarding. For Catholics, there is always death before glory(crucifixion before resurrection). For a worldling, there is always glory before death.

We,in our modern world often express certain concerns about our place in society?I wonder if the Christians expressed their concerns under Nero,Diocletian,English Reformation,French; Russian;Spanish revolutions, etc.

When the Little Flower was asked, how she could always think about God?She simply replied "it’s easy to think of the ones you love…"Peter walks on water then sinks, why? He initially had his focus on Christ then became distracted.I hope you get the general idea?

Welcome to the club! Except that in the case of Jews, it’s not so much the mainstream media and society that hate our religion since it is not currently politically correct to be so open about it. But behind the scenes is another story. Despite this, it is important not to play too much the role of victim or martyr, but instead fight the good fight by adhering to your moral and religious principles.
you know what is starting to get tiresome for me? If you are on youtube much every single video about a conspiracy is tied to one of three things. The Catholic Church is involved (usually the Jesuits). If it’s not them it’s the Jews who are secretly orchestrating world events from behind the scenes. Or if those two aren’t original enough there’s always the “New World Order” to fall back on, which depending on the video both Jewish people in general as well as the Catholic Church have been thrown into the “New World Order.” Although I guess technically there’s four because anything else becomes extra terrestrial. Aliens, doomsday asteroids, polar shifts, etc etc. It’s wild out there anymore.

They always say stupid things like, “Pedophiles are priests”, all denominations have sickos within them, why is Catholicism always pointed out.
Catholic Church and secularists have a opposing moral viewpoints. Secular media hates the traditional moral teachings of the Church. They hate the fact that the teachings of the Church are enduring and do not change with time or place. Marriage, sex, human life,

Founder of the Faith and freedom coalition, Evangelical Ralph Reed says ‘lamestream media hates the Pope because he exemplifies the vibrancy and relevance of orthodox faith in today’s society, which many in the press find either alien or deeply troubling.’ Reed also views the media as alarmed that for the “once divided Evangelicals and devout Roman Catholics, the Pope is a symbol of a faith-based constituency the media views as hostile to modernity and values-neutral ‘tolerance’

Ummm - this is simply not the case. browse any secularist website. You will find that sex is not even the main thing discussed.

While sex is often what we hear about, it is the manifestation of sin cloaked as freedom which they are trying to promote. Take for example the recent continued slide of the Episcopal Church. All you hear in the Media is they have voted to ordain transexuals and bless same sex relationships. What you are not hearing in the mainstream media is that the path they’ve been on the past 40 years has caused absolute devastation in the denomination.

In their most recent convention this week they contemplated selling their NY Headquarters because they can’t afford it. They’ve lost people in droves and now many are at the age where they are dying with little new membership due to their views. They have churches literally sitting empty with closed doors that they can’t sell.

They are spending tens of millions to persecute Bishops and Diocese who have publicly stated that they should uphold scripture. It is a complete train wreck. Sin causes death and because organizations don’t have the judgement of an afterlife, they receive their judgement now in the form of destruction of the organization, whether religious, secular or governmental. But all you will hear is that which supports the worldly viewpoint.

You can take great comfort when the media comes against you, it means you stand for something.

IMHO there is some truth here, but it’s not the whole truth. Society is working very hard to limit a great many of our freedoms (but never the ones regarding sex). Smoking laws, laws against large soft drinks in NY and in high schools, more restrictions everywhere you turn. Government as micro-managing birth-to-death nanny.

Heck, my profession - teaching - probably has a much greater incidence of pedophilia than Catholic priests.

But on the title of the thread, would you say the LCMS is hated, too, because of, 1) our support of the CC’s efforts in the HHS mandate affair ,and 2) our arrogance in standing up to the Holder Justice Dept. and the EEOC in the Tabor-Hosanna ministerial exception case?
Or are we just collateral damage since we sometimes look and act sort of like Catholics?

The lie the serpent told in the Garden was to eat of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and “ye shall be as God”.
Ever since man has been in competition to be a god.
So they will hate any church, group or individual that tells them otherwise.

Its like hating on everyone from the Government because something Obama and or a Congressperson has done…

When you represent a large organization it is always easier to criticize as a whole instead of the individual person. Or attack the institution or the person instead of the problem.

Kinda like saying all protestants are this or that, you know an ignorant and dumb statement that intends to categorize everyone under the same umbrella. It’s funny how we ourselves fall under the same uneducated grounds…

However, after working a little over 10 years in the crimes against children field. I can tell you from a first witness testimony, that this type of crime does not affect only the child. But it affects the family of the child, the community of the child, the family of the offender, the community of the offender and in the case of a person representing a Church, it affects the entire community of believers. Your emotions run really high at the disgusting and abusive nature of this type of crime. It is really difficult to keep an objective mindset if you are a victim and/or a related to a victim in this case.

Needless to say, the media jumps on ANY opportunity to exploit anything that CAN boost sales…

Umm, HHS mandate…
This is a current issue in one country only, and only one of a large number of issues addressed by secularists, even in the US. And of course from the secular point of view, it is about health, not sex.

Yeah, Good point.

Pregnancy is not a disease.
