Why doesn't CAF have a science category?

I go to other forums for science discussions. It is, sometimes, difficult to get answers to scientific questions. I think it would be good to attract scientists to the CAF.
Is it difficult to establish another category?
Does it take up a lot of memory?

There are already scientists and science topics here. Do we need a category for it? We certainly get plenty of creation and evolution threads, which typically run into thousands of replies with no apparent progress. I hope a Science category wouldn’t attract more of that sort of thing. Other and more fruitful science topics pop up in Philosophy and Casual Discussion.

Supply and demand.

You can start science topics in the Philosophy board or in the Casual Discussion board.

What is the Catholic connection to having a “science” forum?
We post science questions quite often on CAF. The philosophy category or casual discussion is not really appropriate.

Science, usually, promotes materialism. This is a key fallacy that may be causing root problems against religion and moving us away from a more supernatural spirit. It is very complex and as a root problem we should approach it with great seriousness. If we attract scientists there can be more dialog. The falsehood of abortion and ,“social justice,” are rooted in materialism.
Can you think of a better way to approach these problems more directly?
If you post in other categories then you are maintaining a luke warm fuzzy attitude. A science category would make it more prominent, on the internet especially. If CAF comes up on a search engine in connection with serious science research that would be profound. Think about that. The Church should discuss science and it does, but, if you attract amateur and professional scientists there might be some greater influence.

I think it sounds boring and largely irrelevant.
Just offering my opposite opinion here, I think @Sundiver has made a plausible case for interesting to scientists and relevant to Catholicism, but it’s difficult for me to see it working in the CAF culture. I see a Science category as a risky experiment. If it works, it would be good.

I still don’t think CAF needs a separate category for it, just as there are not separate categories for many things.

I’m contemplating the hierarchy of truth. At the bottom is science.
Gospel
Church teaching
philosophy
science
It would make sense to include these important foundations of truth to support the Church and the Gospel.

Literally all philosophical questions that use reason/evidence (science if you will) to back them up.

We don’t need a science section, just use philosophy

I agree.

The scientific method is only one one of the methods of inquiry in philosophy. So it belongs under the umbrella of philosophy.

Education is lacking nowadays when the public thinks that the only legitimate method of inquiry is the scientific method. Science is a good tool but it is limited.

Why do you think scientists would be attracted to a Catholic Forum, even one with a science sub-forum? Maybe as a curiosity; but I would think scientists would be more attracted to a scientific forum in their own particular discipline.
