Why don't we follow the Old Testament Food Laws?

I just finished reading Leviticus a week or two ago, and this question has been gnawing at me for awhile. I remember reading about what God declares “edible and inedible”, and pork is deemed the latter because it doesn’t chew the cud yet has a cloven foot, or something along those lines. So my question is, having not gotten to the New Testament yet (I’m just reading beginning to end), did Jesus say or do anything that changed this? Or are we still technically not supposed to eat pork?
