Why Easter Attacks happened in Sri Lanka?

Why the terrorists attacked several Sri Lankan Christian churches and hotels in Sri Lanka?
Was the recent Mosque shootings in New Zealand triggered them or is there a different reason for that? I dont know! However this type of disgusting massacre cannot be condoned at all.
 
A security specialist pointed out that the Sri Lanka terrorist attacks were very carefully planned and organized, showing that preparations were already under way long before the New Zealand mosque shootings on March 15. Five weeks can’t have been long enough.

Yeah, New Zealand mosque shootings were just a headline grab.

It reminded me of Manson and his “Helter Skelter”. Plan stuff in advance and then just seize upon whatever the latest current event is, as the alleged trigger.

It also makes zero sense that a country a great distance from New Zealand where most of the inhabitants don’t have any connection with or background from New Zealand would have people committing a terrorism act in retaliation for something that happened in New Zealand. One would expect a retaliatory attack in New Zealand or in Australia or other nearby country.

Thank you very much for BartholomewB and Tis Bearself for their comments but I am disappointed as a Sri lankan Catholic for the minimal number of responses to my post pertaining the cruel death of many Sri lankan Catholics on Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka due to multiple explosions!

I am sorry for your loss,

It is possible that you did not receive a lot of responses because many of us do not have the answer.
 
Another reason might be people are reluctant to pay attention or response to an incident happened outside his or her country though it is very tragic!
 
I thought these terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka
were tragic and horrific. Trying to imagine the horror the victims witnessed that day is beyond my comprehension.
