No real point to this except for people to BE CAREFUL bad things can happen to the best people 😦
-Back Story:
An 18 year old family friend graduated and moved 4000 miles away, she happily entered school, found the money was tough and took 2 night jobs (waitressing i think).

-Flashback Halloween several years ago:
About midnight, family friend leaves her second job to go home for the night, as there was school the next morning.

They found her half-naked ‘abused’ body in a ditch the next morning on some mountain road.

Police believe they found the group of men who did this atrocity, but they do not remember that night or any other night because of excessive drinking. I am not certain the status of the DNA testing.

-Present
Family of my friend still hurting, the anniversary of this event is coming, bringing the feelings back to them. They have mostly healed the biggest pains, but it still bothers them i think.

Again be careful on halloween,

Monoxide

Just a question, I really don’t know, are the occurrences of murder and rape any higher on Halloween than any other night of the year? I have heard of animal sacrifices but never recall hearing about murder and rape being any more prevalent.

Your story raises nothing more than a coincidence between her death and Halloween. I would suggest being careful all the time.

coincidence? wrong, halloween is used as an excuse for the heathen to unleash their animal urges, cross dressing, promiscuity and excessive drunkeness. All these evils gathered into one night can… no will definatly cause horrible things to happen such as this. In my town people are injured, often raped and abused when encountering a group of drunken heathens strutting their ‘stuff’ on halloween. I know it seems strange but i often refer to it as 'hell’oween.

Where in the world do you live? People are “often raped and abused”? Come on, to say you are exaggerating is to put it mildly. People who are so obsessively opposed to Halloween have a screw loose. I just don’t get it and I am not going to pretend I do. What is this country coming to with all these wacko beliefs propagated in the name of Christianity? Don’t you have anything better to get worked up about? :whacky:

Seriously, I encourage you to productively channel your emotional energy into fighting truly moral issues like abortion and gay marriage, or to developing your Catholic faith.

I point the blame to Hollywood, when they started to market their horror films in line with the custom of Halloween. To me it is all about fall, apples, and pumpkins and children enjoying hayrides. I live in a pretty urban area also.

Although what happened to the first poster is very unfortunate and sad…i hardly blame halloween. It’s a day just like any other except that kids can dress up, get scared by cheesy decorations (or good ones), and get candy. These lies you spout about the occurance of rape and murder being more prevelant on halloween is equal to that hysteria caused by the lies about the poison in the candy or the razorblades in the apples…never happened, or only happened once. Halloween is a great time of year, for more reasons then one…it’s my favorite…

honestly…walking home in the middle of the night by yourself is dangerous any night…I’d never do it…EVER, halloween or not.

I think any crime increase would be more related to possibly getting drunk and drugs, such as on New Years Eve.

Monoxide, your argument would be a lot more believable if you gave some statistics or studies, or something other than “I say”. I truly don’t know if crime increases or not and before I made a statement like you did, I’d make sure I had my facts together and verifiable. BTW what town do you live in so we can check the statistics for crime on Halloween?

Be careful, very careful

I met my husband at a Halloween Party. We have 19 years of wedded bliss.
well something pleasant most of the time 😉
