The reason why I like statues of the saints in churches is because it makes you not feel alone and in communion with the Church Triumphant making us one big happy family. If you think about it the best way to remember someone who has passed on and want them to be somewhat life size like would be a statue (painting or icon is also good but I’m talking about statues) and that statue though it is not living brings its memories of that person. Since we are in communion with the saints bringing them to mass in a form of a statue is kind of like having a family reunion. You know that they are dead, but that their lives have brought an impact to the faith and they will be with us when we enter the kingdom of heaven. However we are the living church as the Church Militant and we are not in heaven yet, but to keep the Church Triumphant with us is by statues and icons etc. and they want to celebrate with us at mass.

This is just my opinion on why I like having statues in church. Anyone else want to share why they like statues in churches or icons paintings etc.

I love the statues because it almost makes you feel like you have a brother or sister lookin out for you all the time. Someone to talk to in prayer or someone to model your life after.

I enjoy seeing statues and paintings of Jesus, the apostles, and other biblical heroes & heroines too. It’s encouraging & uplifting.
