A longing for feudalism.
You can start one container of tomatoes in a sunny spot. Cherry tomatoes do not need much space. I just purchased several seed varieties that are perfect in containers. One is lemon cucumbers and one is cherry tomatoes. Many space saving type varieties available. When I was in college I had lots of plants, you can too! College does not last forever and it is worth all the effort. Someday you will have your nice garden. Take some plant courses. This sounds so nice! I wanna be able to do it, but I’m single and in college and work at Burger King =’( But that sounds so much like how I’d like to live! The idea of my own vegetable garden is so beautiful and simple. Not fair.
When I first read about it, it really came off like that and perhaps more (not in a good way either). It sounded like the Catholic take on going Amish with the problematic aspect making it sound like the path only ‘true’ Catholics should follow (oh and that a Catholic state should rise from it).Or is it more a matter of relocating to an intentional community of like-minded persons and growing a vegetable garden?
A bit harsh but I actually sympathize with your sentiments. :\A longing for feudalism.
If you want to live like the many ethnic tribes that my esteemed college professor spent most of his life studying, then by all means you have my support. So - if some in this fairly small faith community would like to establish a “village” where they might one day comprise a majority, where they can live close together and live and share their values…I don’t really see the problem.
