Why is the Baptism of the Lord celebrated during the Christmas Season?

I do not understand why the Baptism of the Lord is celebrated as part of the Christmas Season when His Presentation at the Temple as a baby is not. Because His Baptism came just before Jesus spent 40 days in the desert, and because of the connection of the Sacrament of Baptism to Lent and Easter, why doesn’t the Church celebrate His Baptism at the beginning of Lent rather than at the end of Christmas?

The Feast of the Baptism of the Lord closes the Christmas season and begins Ordinary Time because Jesus’ public ministry (what Ordinary Time celebrates) began at His baptism.

The presentation is celebrated later on because it took place 40 days after Jesus’ birth and thus is celebrated 40 days after Christmas.
