My Fiancé recently asked me why, when saying the rosary, there is so much repetition. I didn’t really have an answer for him. Being a cradle Catholic I have always just prayed the rosary and meditated on the life of Jesus and the things in my life that I may need to pray for like I was taught as a child. I never really thought about the repetition but since he brought it up, I am curious. Is there a reason we say 5 (or 20) decades or a specific reason we say 10 Hail Mary’s in each decade? Please help! He is non denominational and is interested in and appreciates the Catholic Church and I want to be able to give him ALL of the information I can.
