Why is the St. Benedict medal used on the rosary?

I’ve recently encountered several rosaries that have, rather than a miraculous medal or some other Marion centerpiece, a St. Benedict medal. I’m not wondering if there’s something wrong with this, I’m entirely certain there isn’t, I’m just wondering why you’d put a St. Benedict medal on a rosary instead of a marion medal? What’s the reasoning behind this? What’s the purpose?

Benedictine medals can be used in certain rites of exorcism, so it is common to wear them or put them on rosaries because his intercession is clearly quite powerful. Just so long as people don’t use the medals as a superstitious good luck charm.

You will find a wide variety of rosaries with different medals, there is nothing wrong.
