Why is there not a single Protestant Understanding of the Bible?

Tom & PR, apparently it seems to depend on from who/what/where we get our understanding of what constitutes sin and therefore what we believe we must repent. For some it is of course the Catholic Church. For others it may be another faith tradition, or perhaps through prayerful reflection and discernment deep within our consciences. CCC 1776 says a man discovers law deep within his conscience in his most secret core and sanctuary. Where he is alone with God whose voice echos. So Tom, no, I think it’s a good idea for swimmers not to strap themselves to an anvil sinking into the ocean. 👍 We know drowning is rather likely in that scenario. But faith is a bit of a different matter. And indeed I join you in faith in believing we shall know destinations on the last day. May God bless you both in faith with a Lent of reflection and peace.
