Some Christians describing both the Holy Mary and the Holy Trinity the Most Holy.
Why multiple Most Holy beings exist?

Is the word “Most” used as “some” in this case, or as “best” like I assumed? Which?

The Holy Trinity are not really “Most Holy beings”. The Holy Trinity is God. God basically IS holiness. You can’t compare him to other “beings” that he created.

Among human beings (in other words, not God), Mary is the most holy human.

Jesus was fully human, but he is also fully divine and is God, so not the same thing as a “most holy human”.

‘Most’ in this context means ‘the holiest possible. their holiness is the completest possible’. It doesn’t mean that there is competition, and obviously the holiness possible for God is not to be compared with the holiness possible for Our Lady or the saints, as they are human and don’t have the same ‘capacity’ .

Does it help at all to reflect that a full tiny cup of water is as ‘full’ in itself as an ocean of water?
