The Church makes a fuss about who receives commion as if it knows what is in the heart of the receiver of communion. GOD knows and I’m sure He will and can not come to anyone who is in sin. Becaue of His perfect nature?🙂

Dear friend,

It’s sounds like you are in denial. What do you mean that He will not and cannot come to anyone in sin. He came to earth and allowed sinners to torture Him and put Him to death! The problem is not with God coming to anyone who is in sin; the problem is with anyone in sin coming to God. St. Paul was very explicit about not receiving the Lord in the Eucharist while in sin: “…and so anyone who eats the bread and drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will be behaving unworthily towards the body and blood of the Lord (1Cor 11:21).” The Church is not making a fuss. The Church is taking the Lord seriously and acknowledging that He expects us to repent and seek absolution before receiving Him. Something IS expected of us. It’s the least we can do in the face of the price He paid that we might receive Him in this way.

Fr. Vincent Serpa, O.P.
