Why pray if there is Predestination?

Hi all
New to this site, so hope I post in the right place…
I’ve been trying to find an answer to the question :
" If God is all knowing - and it is believed our futures are predetermined, can prayer influence an outcome?"
I am interested in as many views as possible, especially ones that can be used to explain the concept to non believers.
