I was told by a Catholic deacon that priests cannot marry because if they were married, when they died, their money would go to their spouse or significant other. This way, by staying single, when they die, the money would go to the church. That answer does not seem correct. Could you please shed some light as to why other clergy can marry, but not priests. Even some of the apostles were married. This is a church law, not in the Bible. God Bless You.
