Since Jesus taught everything directly to His apostles, (I have made known to you, all the Father has told me) and then He again
sent them the Holy Spirit to “teach them all things”, then it is obvious that the Church learned all her doctrines directly from God.
Since this is so, and since the Church teachs that “all she believes” is handed down in Tradition, then why does any doctrine have to be in the bible at all?
After all, Jesus did not say salvation comes from reading the bible, studing the bible, or learning the bible. Jesus said salvation comes from believing the Gospel that His Church taught and preached (Mark 16:16)
And the Gospel the apostles taught and preached was the Catholic Faith. That was why the early Chrisitians, who learned from the apostles, were all Catholic.
Thus, there is no reason why any doctrine HAS to be in the bible at all.
The only reason some are in there are to be a witness to the faith, to nourish the faith and to illuminate the faith as the Church teaches.
