Your reference is to the confused Matthew Shepherd drug deal. Point out more “beating to death” situations. This is taking one example and generalizing. OK, I’m a nice guy and will spot you 3-4 possible others. … but it’s still a wild, wild generalization, and politically irresponsible.

You nailed it. If you ever watch one of those Judge Judy type shows, it’s a pretty realistic depiction of today’s culture. People freely and even proudly admit to sleeping around and living together. It’s true for most of the people I know as well.
