Hi,
Your personal relationship with God, whether you are aware of it or not, was not initiated by you. He initiatied it by creating you and by giving you the gift of faith. But He did much more than that. He showed you something of His love for you on Good Friday. That God who created you from absolutely nothing would suffer such agony and actually die on your behalf boggles the mind. That reality is more than we can completely wrap our minds around. But we do understand what suffering is and are able to recognize that His love for us is more than we can fully grasp.
The Mass brings Good Friday into our lives in a concrete way. His body and blood are present on the altar and we have the privilege of being present there and of actually receiving Him into our own bodies. This is the personal relationship with you that HE initiated. He desigined it and sealed it with His own blood–and yes, it is all about attending Mass on Sunday.
I invite you to spend some time each day, reflecting on all that He endured in His passion and thank Him. The more you grow in your apprecitation of that reality, the more you will long to go to Mass as often as possible. It is the greatest event that takes place on the face of the earth.
