Why the catholic church is most the target

From the point of view of Raison d’Etat, all this logic and reason destroyed social stability as people started to attack the old Catholic Monarchs as a result.

Not being much acquainted with you, or your sense of humor, I just have to ask … was this ^^ a serious post, or are you just making fun of Catholics?

I have to warn you though … I’m in the Army (and if we meet on the battlefield … I’ll do my level best to send you to whatever god you believe in; and in as quick a manner as possible).

As for theocracies, well didn’t the Catholic Monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella’ Spain work out quite well? To imagine what it is like to live in a theocracy? I would work in the system as an inquisitor. Like it or not, it was the Inquisition which gave the Spaniards the spiritual unity and power to triumph over the Moors in 1492 and conquer half the world for the faith.

you mean pesky guys like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, and so on? You think by brushing off anyone who doesn’t agree that we should revert to a 12th century style theocracy as a “leftist human rights” (rant) you sound intelligent?

I can’t for the life me believe there’s people in this country who still think as you do. It sure makes me realize our educational system is doing a poor, poor job.

You think it might have been great living in Spain during the INQUISITION? What are you crazy? Holy smokes … now I’ve heard it all. This is perhaps the most ludicrous thing I’ve heard on this board so far.

I’m convinced that your not the most stable fellow … but please tell me most of you don’t think the good ol’ USA should become a theocracy like Spain under Ferdinand and Isabella? That would give me a whole new view of Catholics, a national security threat.

I have already listed the benefits of Ferdinand and Isabella’ Spain, and adding on they civilized half of the unknown world. By comparison, the USA is barbarizing half of the known world.

Since you mentioned Iran in your post, I would rather live in Tehran than New York as at least in Tehran, abortion and homosexuality do not exist, and thus it is a more morally clean place.

I am not a traditionalist as I accept the authority of the Holy See unlike the SSPX, even though I am somewhat sympathetic to some of their ideas.

I don’t agree with the logic that to be a “traditionalist” implies not accepting the authority of the Holy See (and in fact I think a lot of “traditionalists” would take offense at that). But anyhow, if you’re not a “traditionalist”, that’s fine with me; I just wanted to point out that your opinions aren’t unheard of among Catholics.
