Why the hostility toward Mary?

You can trace Marys Geneology throught the Bible and Elisabeths, They are Levites. Though I believe theres Jewish blood in there family also. I’ll find the link and post.

Where did you get that? I’d very much like to see that reasoning laid out.

“his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name Elizabeth.”

Her and her husband were Levites:

The word used here however is “συγγενίς”. That is just a generic word for relative and doesn’t have to mean cousin.

MInd you I haven’t followed this all out. Yet its looking right. Take a look, see that you think. Levites a big part of Mary and Elisabeth. Not sure if that all thats to it.

You know BW, I’m a little confused here, just as a casual reader. In your 50+ posts here you have repeatedly asked “where is that in the Bible, where is the Scripture”, and when it is presented you say “well you’re just throwing out verses”.

So, I’m sure nobody is really pinned down what exactly it is you are looking for.
I think your wrestling match is ultimately with history, not with what the Church believes about the Blessed Mother.

You are throwing out many verses. If you are going to post Bible verses, then post ones that are relevant to the discussion at hand. For example, if I said did Eve eat the fruit?, I would post this verse: *And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. * Gen. 3:6

It doesn’t matter to me what the Church has to say about Mary or about confession, baptism, etc. In my belief and the belief of any true Christian, Catholics believe that Jesus is the Savior so therefore they are going to Heaven. The non-Catholics that say Catholics are not going to heaven because of not believing in Grace alone, don’t know what they are talking about.

As far as my motivation on here, it is nothing bad. I spent four years in biblical college and four years in medical school. Biblical college was much tougher. I miss the talks I use to have with fellow classmate of all different Christian sects.

I am on vacation right now, and am enjoying talking on this forum and some others. The reason I like the Catholic forum is that Catholics on a forum like this care and have knowledge about Christianity. It no fun debating someone who thinks that Jesus is the illegal alien mowing his yard.

It took a perfect sacrifice that was God to atone for our sins.

As far as Jesus being a Jew, the bible does mention it a few times:

Very early in the morning, the leading priests, the older Jewish leaders, the teachers of the law, and all the Jewish council decided what to do with Jesus. They tied Jesus and led him to Pilate, the governor. They gave Jesus to Pilate. Pilate asked Jesus, “Are you the king of the Jews?” Jesus answered, "Yes, that is right. Mark 15:1-2

All the Gospel writers say that Jesus said, “You say so”–not, “Yes, that is right”.

At any rate, the point is that in your paradigm you cannot rebuke any Christian who says that Jesus was not a Jew, as that’s his interpretation.

Now, when you claim that Catholic veneration of Mary is not supported by Scripture, then, again, you are contradicting your own paradigm, as you cannot rebuke others for what they have interpreted in the Bible.
