There is no obligation to pray in Latin. One may pray in one’s own vernacular, or use a liturgical language such as Latin, Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, etc…, and still be heard by God.

The belief that prayers become more powerful or holier when said in Latin/Hebrew/Greek/ etc… is a superstition.

God doesn’t care what language we pray in. All he cares about is whether the prayer is sincere.

It’s unlikely Jesus himself prayed in Latin. He probably prayed in the language or languages he used every day, which weren’t Latin.

Many saints who were relatively poor and uneducated likely didn’t know enough Latin to pray in it and they too prayed in whatever language they spoke every day.

Latin is a traditional language that the Church has used for scholarly purposes, such as writing official Vatican documents. One reason they use it is that the language is essentially “dead” and isn’t changing or evolving any more, so they don’t have to worry that something they write today in Latin will not be understood, or will take on a different meaning, 500 years from now.

Some people have a preference for Latin Mass or Latin prayers because it was used before Vatican II or they just like how it sounds. It’s just their preference - not a requirement and not any holier than praying in English or Aramaic or Mandarin Chinese or anything else.

Thanks all,Yep,God hears are prayers in whatever language,i must agree it is cool or you have some special feeling when you Pray in Latin. But I doubt that God prefers Latin prayers before others.God bless
