Celebrating the Incarnation and Christmas

In tonight’s Mass, and the Christmas Masses tomorrow, we celebrate the Incarnation with a special kneeling when we profess the Incarnation at the Creed. It sums up why we are Catholics and not Protestants.

Once we had a seminar on Catholicism. One lady convert to Catholicism told her story of how she gave up her six digit salary and life in the fast lane to convert. She had belonged to several different Protestant denominations before converting to Catholicism. After her talk someone asked, “Since you converted to many different Protestant denominations before coming to Catholicism how do you know that you won’t convert again to some other faith?”

And here is the answer. As a Protestant, her faith was somewhat in herself and in her own interpretation of the Bible. But, now as a Catholic her faith is in the promise of Jesus Christ that He will guide His Church into the fullness of faith. Matthew 16:15-19

We know Jesus’ Promise is Trustworthy because He is the God-Man.
And so we kneel when we profess our faith in the Incarnation tonight.

We did not last night nor have we ever kneeled at the creed to my recollection.

Peace!!!

The church I visited for Mass (I was way for Christmas) we knelt. The priest made a point of reminding people of this. Of course, in the Ordinariate we do every time we recite the Creed, so for me it is natural to do so.
