Doing a read-through of a play in the middle of mass is necessarily a bit less solemn than a typical reading, but the Church in recent centuries has judged the pastoral benefits to outweigh the disadvantages of this unusual deviation from normal rules. I don’t agree with you that having the participants in this read-through staged apart from each other is necessarily more solemn than having them stand adjacent to each other.I can’t imagine 3 individuals sharing the ambo and doing so gracefully in a way that doesn’t take away from the solemnity of the Passion reading.
One minister not mentioned so far in this thread is the commentator, who could be using the ambo at nearly any point during the mass.what occasion would see multiple ministers using it at once
