Why would Satan punish you if you’re going against the word of God? It would seem to me that the more evil one did during one’s lifetime would put a person in Satan’s favor. Why punish those who do his work?

I am not sure if I am really qualified to answer here, but the first thing that comes to mind is cuz he hates you(good or bad) because God loves you.Loves you so much he sent his own son to die a hanous death for you.

Satan isn’t the one who punishes you inasmuch as it is your separation from God and your spiritual punishments as a result of your choice and what you “love” (specific sins).

Satan wants people because it only further divides God and man and as Milton put it “misery loves company”

These are my own thoughts, so I could be completely wrong.

Some people revel in their Evil deeds and lifestyles not knowing God at all…but the fact of the matter is…bad behavior is bad for us…spiritually and physically. Satan doesn’t have to punish…the lifestyle will. Try and think about any sinful behavior and you’ll see that it eventually catches up with you…and it appears to be punishment, but is actually normal consequence for action.

Drinking to much leads to family breakups…job loss…homelessness and possibly death. Adultery…break up of the family…possible diseases…mental anguish…could lead to death. Theft…prison…possible death…this is the brilliance of God…the ten Commandments are so that we may stay healthy as well as happy…

That is not to say Satan doesn’t attack…he does. But I personally do not believe he punishes on Earth…he doesn’t have to…the sin is punishment enough.

A more telling question is one that I have always had for “Satanists” who think that they might get “special treatment” in Hell. We are all made in God’s image…even those silly Satanists…when Satan looks at man he sees God…and despises him for it… they will receive equal treatment…

Can you give us some background as to where you have gotten the idea Satan would punish us for going against the word of God? Thanks.

Yours in Christ.

Satan is among the punished. He is not the punisher.

“the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulphur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” (Rev 20:10) “if any one’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” (Rev 20:15).

I guess the reason why I brought this up was it seems to me that if an unrepentant sinner is cast into Hell, why would God choose to send someone to the banished angels of Heaven? Is it because unrepentant sinners are to be treated as those renegade angels?

It is God punishing the evil doers but I would assume that since Satan is in eternal punishment himself, he would take great joy in being able to inflict pain and suffering to those sent to Hell along with him.

Remember that some one who is pure evil has no redeeming qualities such a loyality to those that do his bidding. Plus, as was already pointed out, in hell, Satan isn’t the one doing the punishing.
