If you have a question about why a particular thread was closed, it is more appropriate to send a private message (PM) to one of the moderators. It is against forum rules to speculate on why a given thread was closed. There can be many different reasons.
EDIT: I just found the thread you are talking about. It was started nearly 2 years ago. If a thread has been inactive for more than a few months, the moderators have asked that posters start a new thread rather than resurrecting the old one.
