Will God abandon me after doing the same sins countless times

I have a problem with repeating the same sins over and over. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve done the same sins and prayed for forgiveness right after, only for me to do it again. So many times I’ve lost count, it’s a huge number. I feel so depressed and I’m scared that God is going to leave me or abandon me. I no longer want to sin. Will God abandon me?

He wont abandon you. It is necessary to keep trying and praying. God understands peoples struggles. Especially with sins of habit/addiction

Absolutely not. Isaiah 49:15- “can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you.” God will always be with you, and you will overcome this with his grace. Don’t let Satan drag you into despair.

Keep asking for forgiveness and going to confession, the only time god will hand you over to sin is to teach you how much it hurts you so that you’ll come back to him, and even then, he won’t “abandon” you. From the looks of it you’re far from that point. God bless, and praying for you.

He will never stop pursuing you. Frankly, you should be glad that you are feeling sorry for your sin. The Holy Spirit is convicting you, which proves that He cares very deeply about you. If He abandoned you, He wouldn’t be leading you to repentance. If things were not well with your soul, you wouldn’t feel remorse for your sin.

Be glad that He cares enough about you to guide you to repentance.
