Will I ever see my cat again?

You mean that claw, claw, claw thing on the carpet? That is his favorite thing to do, especially in the middle of the night, lol.

I’ve heard that means they want to play/get affection, and it is most always at night.

He only likes to be cuddled when hewants to be cuddled.

He is also fascinated with water, running water in particular, which intrigues me because I have always heard they hate water.

BTW, would a second cat be a help or a problem, in your opinions?

Ceil, you take care of that Cat!!! Or, I’ll never give you another. I might give you a chicken or two, though.

In fact, I’m considering it NOW. He just rolled all over the dry grass outside… and he’s covered with it. I tried to brush him, but there’s so much static electricity in the air… it floated right back to his coat! So… he’s banned to the outdoors, for awhile.

I’ll go out, later… with a damp cloth and clean it off. He will hate that.

It really helps. I still sing it, and our cat meows loudly…probably his way of saying, alright already, I’m back…give it a rest. ha

-What did you do, my son? You will obtain forgiveness if you sincerely repent.

-Well, Father, there were two lambs grazing in the field, and I ate one of them, because I was very hungry.

-And you ate ONLY one? I won’t absolve you, accursed heretic!

So yes, you can send your cat to confession… Just don’t expect it to mean the same thing to him. Maybe he will have to confess for not chasing the lady cats even more, for not clawing your carpet often enough, and for not climbing up into the dusty attic!

Baaad kitty, indeed. But, they are so amazingly cute. Hard to stay mad at them.

The prodigal cat has returned!

He came to the same door, within the fence, as he left.

Needless to say, he won’t be going out, again, until he has seen
the vet to undergo his “adjustment”. Lord knows, I hate to do it.

Thanks for your advice, everyone. Especially Zooey. I was really begninning to grieve over the loss, as silly as that sounds.

Shortly after arriving, and eating, he jumped into my lap, placed his paws on my chest and just stared at me, purring, for at least 5 minutes or so. I was touched by this.

Incidentally, I am the only one in the house the cat likes. The other members of my household are all males. I wonder if this is a coincicence.

It is probably **not **a coincidence. In my experiemce, un-neutered males tend to be VERY attached to at least one woman in their familes, while treating “ those other guys” as competitors for the affection of their human.
And yes, he probably does think you are his mother…At almost 11, Miss Lily Daisy still kneads on me when she is hungry, when she comes to bed at night, & when she is being groomed. I have had her since she was 7 weeks old, & she is still a kitten with me.
