I am currently in the RCIA program and am unable to confess my sins. I have sinned a lot in my life and possibly committed mortal sins. I am repentant for them and want to lead a sinless life. I have confessed to God; however, I don’t think I was able to make a perfect act of contrition as is required for the forgiveness of mortal sins.
I’ve heard that unrepented mortal sins cause a person to go directly to hell after death. Does repented mean simply sorry for them, or having received the sacrament of reconciliation or made a perfect act of contrition?
If I die right now, will I go to hell?
