Does Jesus get tired of forgiving our mortal sins? Would he ever give up on us?

No. He will never fail to forgive those who repent.
When Peter asked: shall I forgive my brother seven times?
Christ answered: not sever times but seventy times seven times.

No, never! Christ is incapable growing tired, and He can never give up on a repentant sinner. To do so would be to succumb to the power of sin, and God is more powerful than our sins. His Mercy will never be outdone! He waited eternity for you, and you’re finally here. He called your name, and sought you out before you even knew who He was. He will wait as long as it takes for you. As long as you keep running back to Him, He will run to embrace you too!

Our Blessed Lord is patient, infinitely patient! Thus we must be patient too, and work on our sins. It starts with a simple prayer:

“Lord Jesus, I confess to you today that I despise my sins. With a perfect hate I hate them because of the damage they do to my soul, which You created out of Love, and the great separation they make between You and I. Cut the ties, break these chains, loosen these knots, and I will forever turn my back on sin, and my face toward the sun, which is You Face. Amen.”

The Lord will never give up on us, we can only give up on ourselves.

Peace be with you =)

Even an addiction to a mortal sin? I struggle with one sin that I’m addicted to, could this mean im not repenting right?

The Church speaks about this very perdicament! Listen!..

“Imputability and responsibility for an action can be diminished or even nullified by ignorance, inadvertence, duress, fear, habit, inordinate attachments, and other psychological or social factors.” CCC 1735

Work on fighting and breaking the habit of sin. Pray and fast and receive the Sacraments constantly and God will not fail you.

He does tell us there is one unforgivable sin - blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. I take that to mean rejection of Christ and God. But I guess if you reject that, you won’t be looking for His forgiveness, anyway…

Thankfully I’d never reject God or Jesus. There just too awesome

I’ve struggled with a particular sin that all men tend to struggle with. I think we all know what I’m talking about. Thank God that is behind me and has been for years. But at the time it seemed like no more than 1 hour after leaving the Confessional I would fall back into the same sin.

You need be patient and keep at it. God is teaching you a lesson that sin is a constant fight and we need to constantly work on it and ask God for the grace to overcome it.

I’m most likely struggling with the same sin that you used to struggle with. Do you think praying the Rosary helps?

It does. The Rosary is an enormous help against the devil. Try dedicating your rosaries to the Sorrowful Mother. Praying to her under that title is particularly helpful because it focuses our mind on the pain that sin causes her and also because she can obtain the grace to overcome this particular sin.

It’s mostly a sin rooted in habit, and so it is going to take a while to root it out. But like I said, be patient and promise yourself and God that while you may continue for some time to struggle with this sin, your will is to turn away from it forever. This way the habit will fade eventually.

I was enormously grateful that God and Our Mother helped me overcome this sin, but it took constant Confession and the Blessed Sacrament.

Jesus is Infinitely loving, eternally willing to forgive.

Imagine how forgiving and loving towards you your parents, your spouse, your children and your best friends are.

Now combine all their love and willingness to forgive together.

Now times that by 10,000.

Now imagine that and that’s not even 1% as loving and forgiving as Jesus.

Get the picture? 🙂

There’s a youtube video called “G_ds love letter” and it explains some of these concepts here. Watch it. He is not counting our sins is a big one and mankind tries to do that. Next, the sacrifice of his son Jesus was the ultimate expression of his love for us.

I confronted problems before but I also tell people how we can fix it and what worked for me can be a hint on what might work for them. I got a problem on another thread with my loved one and I said “i love you and people make mistakes just know tomorrow is a new day that’s all.”

It ain’t easy that’s why we have Jesus helping us remember that what’s beyond us he’s there for. People will try to stomp on you but don’t keep your head down. I’m not proud of my problems most days but I gotta know that I gotta do what’s in front of me and when people trip, he will catch me.

Amen to all

Zaccheus:
He died for all our sins. He forgives if we believe and repent.
I see. But what about an addiction? I keep on falling into a mortal sin. Does this mean I’m not repenting right?
No. Trying and failing is not at all the same thing as failing to try.
As long as you keep trying, and repent when you fail, Christ will forgive.
