Will non-Catholics go to heaven?

Not sure if this is where to put this, but here goes:

Hello, I have been bombarded by my my sister-in-laws saying that they do not need to belong to a church, just believe that Jesus is their Savior and they will be invited into heaven. I am torn on this discussion because I believe The Catholic Church to be the church that Jesus intended all people to believe and follow. How do I respond to what they are saying? I am not very versed in the Bible so I cannot quote anything to help my view along.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If they are sincere in their beliefs and live according to Christ’s teaching they will certainly go to heaven but their way will be more tortuous because the Bible can be interpreted in many different ways.

Ask them whether Jesus wrote a book or founded a Church - which selected the writings which they accept as Gospel truth!
