Will people recognize each other in Heaven?

A friend of mine asked me this question. She had been told quite strongly by a relative that we would not recognize loved ones in Heaven. My friend said she thinks a lot of Protestants think this way. She was quite upset by the thought. I was surprised as I thought part of the joy of Heaven would be meeting and greeting loved ones and ancestors.
