Sadly my mom passed away. She wrote a note of requests she would like done after she died. Including dividing her saving amongst us (her children) and dad. Dad said would would be when she alive. Now he is saying he wouldn’t carry out her wishes. And wants it all for himself. I’m taking about a lot of money. He is a very selfish human being most of his life. Will the lord publish him for his greed? I wonder will mom be able to see it happening too 😞😞

Foremost, I’m sorry for your loss. I pray for you and your family. Have faith that your father will come through because the Lord wrecks our plans when He sees our plans will wreck ourselves. In other words, God will steer him in the right path.

I also want to add if you haven’t already to discuss your concerns about the note with other family members. See if they can get involved.

Is there a written will? Can the will be contested? Do you need to get a lawyer involved? Just some thoughts…

I am sorry for your loss. May your mother rest in peace in the glorious presence of God.

I don’t know what the Lord will do about your father. Hopefully he has a plan.

My only advice is to try to not let money divide your family. I know it’s not easy. In the long run, family bonds are worth more than an inheritance. I will pray for your father, for you, and for all your family.

If their properties (savings, checking, CD’s, home, cars, etc.) were in joint names, he is entitled to all of them. It seems odd that his mother would have a separate savings account from his father without having a co-signer in case of death. If there is no legal will, they are unable to do anything, even though she may have expressed that all were to share in her estate.

In my family, we were torn apart over money when our mother died. May this not be true of your family, OP, as I have seen this happen too often - greed sets in and divides loved ones, sometimes forever!

I’m sorry to hear about your mother. Don’t let the money divide your family. Pray for your dad, and I will too. God will try to get him on the right path. You never know, through God’s grace he might come around.

Yeah, Peter was given the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven, and I will get the keys to Purgatory. I will be the one to lock up, since I’ll be the last one out.
