Our world will certainly change, and I can see it going two ways, both having similar effects. The idea of the world being run by multinational corporations fascinates me. If these corporations cater to humanitarianism worldwide, then I’m a staunch capitalist. Multinational corporations, I think, will have the power to end poverty, put people to work and minimize government. But they will need to be humanitarian, which I believe makes humans more human. I’m very optimistic here! I wonder what Ayn Rand would think about this? The key is humanitarianism, not greed, power and prestige.

IN answer to your title question, it looks like the answer is yes.

In response to your comments, I don’t think so. Any perceived humanitarianism on the part of corporations will come from their attempts to increase profit. I don’t see a good world ahead of us…

All the big multinational companies and huge industries care about is MONEY, thats it, they will do whatever needed to bring in more and more, and no amount will ever be good enough, in other words, they are never satisfied.

Just like us, the people that run these huge companies will have to answer for this one day though, I dont see how they can justify it as anything less than pure greed, one of the 7 deadly sins.

I have a feeling when Jesus returns, for the short amount of time our world has, it will not be a good time for anyone working in these companies or even closely related! Jesus likely going to throw a wrench into their works.

Yes. The world will become ‘socialistic’ with the government politicians in bed with the multinational corporations to enrich themselves. Doling out enough ‘benefits’ to the lower classes to prevent out right rebellion and hopefully delude them into believing the government is operating in their interests, but resulting in an ever-deteriorating quality of life for all but the ‘socialist’ political insiders/corporations. Such is the history of the world.

I would be just as worried about those who invoke coveting as a basis for government.

Most multi-national corporations have a fiduciary duty to their stockholders (the vast majority of whom are working class) to turn the best profit they can and keep from flushing folks retirement money down the toilet. Folks running corporations are no different than you and I and operate within what is legal. They are no more or less moral than any other group of human beings.

Probably neither.

The increasing resurgence of nationalism and the increasing human needs that can only be met through socialism will probably lead to a form of multilateral neofascism.

I believe that the Seven Deadly Sins comes from Satan, not human nature. I also believe that God can control Satan and remove these powers to a significant degree when the world is ready. I also believe that love and caring can come from the Holy Spirit. How many CEOs are there that would need to change? Not many, relatively speaking, and even some psychologists are experts in attitude formation and change. Replace the greedy CEOs with those with love in their hearts should not be a big challenge. Getting the people on this planet educated, housed and feed would result in a tremendously large workforce that could greatly benefit even those CEOs that do harbor greed.

Again I read you are confusing economic systems with personal spiritual growth.

Greed and the pursuit of power and prestige are the result of sin, they exist regardless of the economic system. The antidote to greed and sin is maturity and spiritual growth. Capitalism actually provides resources to peruse such growth, which is at the top of maslow’s pyramid (self actualization).

I agree entirely that the wish for power and prestige are sinful, but I also believe that some situations fosters these particular sins more than other situations. Psychologists have studied this for a long, long time. It’s easily demonstrated, especially in children.

BTW: Maslow did not advocate self-esteem, but esteem towards life itself. Modern day psychology distorts many past theories, and you need to go back to the original source to get at the truth. Carl Jung is another old psychologist who is greatly distorted in modern psychology, with many of his observations distorted beyond belief, such as his theory on introversion-extroversion.

I think socialism is in the devil’s plan. Socialism rejects God in favor of a liberal materialist world view. Multinational corporations can have socialist sympathies.
