Also, does all life on earth have a single origin or can there be various origins, some of which are extraterrestrial?

I think it’s highly unlikely, but if we do, it will be a form of life having an intelligence that is less developed than ours. If there is a form of life out there somewhere having a higher degree of intelligence than ours, then we won’t discover them, they will discover us.

i doubt we will discover anything other than microbial life on other planets/moons in our solar system…

my question would be if/when at some far distant date in the future; we encounter “intelligent” aliens

will they’ve needed to be evangelized ?

Besides Catholicism, this is a subject that interests, even intrigues, me.We have covered much in the last fifty years about cosmic knowledge, for example planets existence and many of them are in the Goldilocks zone. What is to come is really exciting but it depends on how far mankind want to chase this dream.

No. They won’t believe you. They’ll be familiar with the concept that any sufficiently advanced species is indistinguishable from God to a less advanced civilization

are aliens "christian’? i don’t know

neither does anyone else here

i guess it will all be clear in the after-life…
