Absolutely, that is how insurance works. Those who don’t use the service pay for those who do not use the service pay for those who do.

That is what insurance is. If everyone paid for what they used you wouldn’t need insurance.

Why do people feel the need to pry in other peoples lives anyway. My personal use of contraception has nothing to do with anyone else so why should you have a say?

Because I don’t want to pay for your birth control with my tax dollars. I couldn’t care less if you use birth control. Just pay for it yourself, or get it from a clinic that doesn’t use tax dollars.

The minute someone starts prying into your wallet you have a right to pry into their life as to how they are going to spend your money.

We already do:( They cover abortions, bc, fertility treatments, etc

But our insurance won’t cover NFP classes (for medical reasons)

Exactly. I pay for people who overeat and need joint replacements or get diabetes. I pay for people who smoke. I pay for a woman to have seven or eight kids.

In return they pay for my depression, anxiety, and birth control. That is how insurance works, and I agree with the poster below you that we all need to take a step out of each other’s business.

Having lost four babies…two stillbirths and two miscarriages I always pray for these souls as I pray for ous.

Thank you for sharing that tape. Yes, this is scary. People think the church should just step in line to accept this since it is only about women’s health care and that is far from the truth.

This is only the tip of the iceberg. Secretary of Health now has the power to tell us what kind of care we will get and how much we will get. People are going to be surprised in the future when they learn they will have rationed care, end of life care and all the rest. It will affect each of us. Most groups will be outraged when it personally affects what goes on between them and their doctor.

They said Kathleen Sebelius has been personally censored by her local bishop not to take communion but she doesn’t care. I live in KS and it is clear she took many donations from the abortionist Tiller. He funded her to get in office and to stay in office. She protected him many times when he was taken to court, even by the KS attorney general. It is clear the Obama administration knew exactly who to appoint to that department, They knew she would be their best friend. Pelois is in the same boat.

If Obama get elected again we will all see our freedoms diminished and taken away. We must pray it won’t happen.

Agreed.

So why does the government insist on prying into your personal life or the personal business of your insurance company or your employer?

Because if the government didn’t then child labor laws wouldn’t have been passed, anti-discrimination laws in the workplace wouldn’t have happened, worker’s rights would be non-existant, sexual harassment laws wouldn’t have happened, etc.

For those of us who are insured, insurance companies already ration our care and determines what happens in doctors’ offices. When I see my doctor, the common topic of our conversations is what is and isn’t covered by my insurance (and compared to most people, I’ve got a really good plan).

I’ve never heard of a single plan that allows for unlimited preventative care and/or screenings like mammograms or dental cleanings. How much and what kinds of palliative care is determined largely on what the insurance plan will cover; same with hospice care.

Even prescriptions. I’m on a particular medication even though my doctor thinks another drug would be more effective for me. But my insurance won’t pay for the the off label 'script, so for now I’m take a less efficacious medication. And if for some reason my doctor would want to double my dosage, I’m out-of-pocket for the increase because my insurance only covers a certain number of doses a month.

For the poor souls without insurance, things are worse. They oftentimes don’t get any care at all.

What does any of that have to do with the topic at hand?

Imagine what it will be like with the government telling your doctor what they can and can’t do.

We have a health ministry that has to treat people with Medicaid “off the books” because their grant prevents them from treating people with “health insurance”. The only problem is no local doctors will treat people on Medicaid because of the low reimbursement levels.

For all the people who like this law: Think of all the power Sebelius has in deciding what gets paid for and what doesn’t even though everything she is changing may be something you approve you. Now imagine a Republican man with all that power in that same position as Sebelius. Still happy about all the power the unelected Secretary has?

Not really - the government is the enforcer. These issues were brought to the governments attention and the government is asked to enforce.
