What do you honestly find - ( privately seen perhaps ) -
as a wimpy trait - within your church - outside of church -
Is there - any - possibly - wimpy type of activity -
here or there - that may need to be looked at - ?
so 2019 may be a stronger and more productive year for your church.
To grow - more - as a mature Catholic - in modern times.

Like a suggestion box.

To think “ outside “ the box.

One - mere item - of possible interest.

My own thoughts are that “we”, which includes “me” is the Church. And if the “me” plucks the log from my own eye first, I may not have to worry about the splinters in the eyes of my brothers and sisters.

Why not look for what is good in your Church? There is enough complaining on these forums!

I enjoyed this particular work of seagull.

It has me reframing some resolutions I was toying with in terms of wimpyness. I’m afraid very few of my resolutions were designed to root out wimpyness. 😆 A few were designed to increase in love.

I wish someone would report those who park in the handicapped spaces without a permit.

Seagull makes unique use of the hyphen.
Quite so. In the Original Post, one sentence ends with a hyphen followed by a question mark. It kind of opens my eyes to the hidden possibilities of punctuation.

Now to respond to the OP: Wimpiness. Is that like timidness? Would laziness count? How about procrastination?

Legend has it that G. K. Chesterton saw the heart of the problem.

What is wrong with the world today? I am.

The Christian ministry of Street Pastors came about after a friend of a church minister; was shot and killed by a gang of youths in Jamaica. After the funeral the minister and a few parishioners prayed for the youths, and said, what can we do to help them. They then went out and engaged with gangs of youths living in poverty; with guns and on drugs. Over time they started to make a difference.

I have been a Street Pastor since 2008, I don’t know how many time I have stood in the middle of drunk angry fights at 3 am on a Saturday morning. I am always amazed at the ladies who come out with us, many of them are in their sixties and seventies. We just put our faith in God and go, as St Paul said; when we are weak; we find strength in the Lord.

Wow ! Eric !
You put your life on the line !
I hope the Pokice don’t mind - you doing what you’re doing.
That’s putting your faith - out there.
I remember the movie Peter and Paul -
The street scene - Paul in Corinth -

That’s - a great observation !
I can’t believe - believers - would have such audacity - wimpy !
I heard a long time ago - park far away - and get your exorcise.

It can be confusing sometimes. We are taught to be fair minded, show love to our neighbour and always forgive endlessly, on the other hand sometimes things are wrong, they feel wrong or they are wrong according to natural law, the scriptures and the Catechism. It can appear that your hands are tied, or locked in prayer but always I hear that small still voice reminding me to shun anger, shun vengeance and show only humility, patience and love.

To be a Catholic Christian can be a big ask, but weighed against the gift we are promised in return perhaps that ask is not so big after all.

It takes one person with a passion to set up a Street Pastor initiative in a town, it could be anywhere in the world.

We have the blessing of the police, council and the churches. Our mission is to strive for a kinder and more caring society, to show the love of God in practical ways. We don’t go out to preach, but the people we meet are left with a kinder understanding of the church. Here is a ten minute video that shows some of the things we do.
